About The West Indian Social Club

Born from necessity, the West Indian Social Club of Hartford began in the basements and homes of the first West Indian immigrants who arrived in the city to work in the tobacco fields. Despite their humble beginnings, these founders demonstrated remarkable leadership by creating an organization that would unite and uplift their community. Their vision built a lasting legacy, establishing the club as a respected institution and a symbol of the strength, culture, and contributions of the West Indian community in Hartford.
